I was looking at a magazine called Simple Living (or something like that) the other day at a friends house and saw a full page car ad. It was for Acura or Nissan, I can't remember. What was funny was that at the bottom was a "warning" in large print which read--"Warning: May cause feelings of superiority". I hope they were being ironic.
I was also recently reading the local classified ads and saw a half page self promotion by the paper to get people to advertise or buy from the classified section. In addition to items like "Rent your apartment in the PC clssifieds", was one that read, "Too young to drive? Find a bicycle in the classified ads". Jeez, why don't they just say--"Get caught drunk driving and lose your license? Find a bicycle in..."
The best thing I've seen lately though was some graffiti written on several sidewalks downtown that reads, "The bigger your car, the smaller your brain". Now that's a headline I can agree with. Or would that be more of a footnote?
