Rain all night. All morning. I’m totally socked in in Terrace, but maybe that’s not so bad. From what I hear, the ride from Terrace to Prince Rupert is gorgeous and it would be a shame to have to do it in the rain. But then again, maybe I’ll have no choice in the matter. My shoulder is in a lot of pain from yesterday so I’m going to try to rest that up as well. I suppose I can wait out the rain in the library entering the rest of my journal writing. I got a hot breakfast at a nearby café after drying out my tent at the laundromat. I got some camping fuel at the grocery store. Man is that stuff expensive. I’d use regular auto gas, but I think it’s pretty harsh on the stove. I went to Valhalla Pure, an outdoor store in town that was having a big sale, but apparently all the goods had been sold already. The store owner was nice though, and we talked a little about the business, as he was changing over from franchise to independent. I headed to the library and entered the rest of my journal to computer then set an appointment for the internet. I went back to the wholesale food store and bought some granola bars and some meat and cheese for sandwiches for lunch and dinner. I inputted all my journaling into the bikeforums website and then had to figure out a weay to upload my photos next. Unfortunately the library computers were too secure, so I had to pay for internet time at a magazine shop to upload the appropriate files. I spent a little over 2 hours and almost 20 bucks putting photos up with my journal entries. After I was finished, it was about 5:30pm and I’d been on the computer all day. I had a headache and my shoulder still hurt from yesterday’s dislocation. I headed off to the gas station near where I camped last night and filled up my water, called dad, and got some chips for the road. I started cycling out of town around 6:30pm and literally into the clouds. There were low clouds all around and the faster I cycled, the wetter I got. After about an hour of cycling, I stopped at a turn out off the side of the road and set up camp. I ate a few salami and Swiss sandwiches and chips and looked through one of the two magazines I bought. It started to rain hard as I wrote in my journal. I finished off the night with a snickers bar flipping through more pages of the interesting magazine before going to sleep. (17 miles)
