I packed up my things in the morning, put away the tent, and took my rig over to Pam’s place. I had some coffee and we prepared for the day’s work. We headed over to her new house and met Erin there. Pam showed me how to mix the mortar, 9 scoops of sand, 4 saw dust, 3 lime, 3 concrete, and add water. We started laying the wall up on the second floor. For me, the work was a bit back breaking since I haven’t done any lifting and working in a crouched position in a while. We made wheelbarrow batches of mortar and stackwalled all day, taking a break for Pam’s delicious potato salad and home baked huckleberry muffins. We finished around 6pm and reunited at the motel for dinner. Erin played his fiddle for us too. He’s pretty good. We listened to music and took turns entertaining Salal and each other. Erin went home and Pam and I chatted about many things late into the night. Finally, I crashed out on her comfy couch.

Peace

Dave
