I woke up and walked over to Pam’s to start breakfast. I cooked up a nice fat Spanish omelet with potatoes, onion, red bell pepper, jalapenos, garlic, and cheddar. Ramsey, a Haida native who lives in the THC came over to say hi. Jeff showed up for breakfast and we had a nice chill morning before heading to Pam’s place for some work. Unfortunately, Salal wasn’t in the best mood to facilitate much progress on the house, but we got a little scraping and smoothing and pinching of the mortar done before finishing the short day of work. Pam, Salal and I went into Masset to pick up some things and then came back to the Motel to relax. I gave Pam a back massage and we listened to some good music. We had some of last night’s Halibut that Pam had made with a fresh garden salad for dinner and then I packed up my stuff to head to Masset to see David. I gave Pam a big hug and told her I’d be back to say goodbye before I left Masset. I made it to David’s place around 8pm and sat with him and Brian, who helps out in the B&B, and ate some great salad and sandwiches. I met Christine who was staying at David’s for the night. She had just cycled in and was on a trip to the Tow Hill area to scatter her father’s ashes. Her dad was a fisherman around the Islands and brought her here a few times when she was younger, so it was a special place for both of them. We had some good conversation and us three took a trip to the van to smoke some fine BC grown herb, which blew me away. I was impressed with Christine’s personality hanging out with her for just a short time and she is also very beautiful. After our smoke, David and I drove up Tow Hill to a beachside cabin he was watching for a couple friends. At the cabin, I met Kevin and Miel, who were staying there as well. We talked for a bit and then all crashed out. I put down a pillow mat and on that two furry sheepskins. It was very comfy. I covered myself with my sleeping bag and listened to the raindrops on the roof as I fell asleep. (6 miles)
