I've pretty much decided on the Mr. Dirt Gizmo chain guide, with a Race Face Evolve DH crank and Race Face Evolve DH BB. I'm set on the crank because i found a hell of a deal and it was what i was looking atbefore i found the deal, so i'm sold. Now the chain guide, do any of you have any reason why i wouldn't want to go with the Mr. Dirt Gizmo?

Now if i bought a Shimano LX, would the shifter for my Shimano Acera work on the LX, or if i have to buy a new shifter i'm going to go with SRAM X.7 and a shifter.

Do they even make it anymore? I thought they stopped making that a few years ago.

Beyond that, nothing is better than e13. Better at keeping the chain on and the bashgaurd is unmatched.

As for the shifting - the acera shifter will work but you will only get 8 spds (I think) out of it. Acera = 8 and LX = 9 if I remember right.

they have the Gizmo on BeyondBikes.com for $137.99, which e13? I'm really liking the Gizmo, I'll look into e13 though, which one.

And thats what i figured, so i
m gonna hold off on the shifter for a while, i only have so much to spend and i think crank, BB, chain guide, and Chain ring are gonna put me at about what i'm looking to spend.

now if i bought an MRP or e13 non-ISCG adapter, as my bike lacks ISCG mounts, would it work on the Mr.Dirt? AA

Requires the spyder and bb to be pulled for threading -no?

Nope, since he's doing a bb swap with the cranks, all that has to be done is before putting the bottom bracket on the frame, you first put the boomerang(already attached to adapter.*) onto the drive side part of the bottom bracket. When tightening the drive side half of the bb in, set the postion you want the guide at, 7:00 position is optimal.

*BeforePutting adapter on bottom bracket, assemble the boomerang peices, saves alot of aggrivation.

Sorry, didn't get all the info. Yep -now's the time to do it.
I bought a Dirtyparts cheap boomerang, works really well. I had my mech put it on.
I don't even have crankpullers. :( My mech only charged 17$ for the install.
I figured it would be better to have him do it, I'd not ever seen that type of mounting off the bb.
