Alright i've seen the SRAM X.7 Listed as 8/9 speed, so would i be able to use it with the 8 speeds on my bike now, my bike came with Shimano Acera, i understand that i need a new shifter, but would it work with the 8 speeds?

You'd need an eight speed SRAM shifter, but yes it would shift 7 or 8 just fine. The two factors that determine a shifter's capability are:
The amount of side to side movment the derailieur has. (Not an issue with a 8/9 derailiuer)
The shifter controlling it (It's a function of the space between the cogs)

Heck you could get 8 speeds out of a seven speed hub by using 8 cogs out of a 9 speed cassette and a nine speed shifter. You'd need to adjust the limit screws and you wouldn'thave the ninth click but it does work. {/Fun fact**
