Well, as some of you know I just got a new specialized P.2. And its making an odd sound, kind of like a rubbing sound in the crank. I thought it was coming from the chainguide and the vibration was just travelling through the frame, making th sound. I loosened the chain guide, and tried the pedals and it still made that rubbing sound. It gets loud when I go really fast, it doesnt appear to be performance threatening yet, but I fear if it is serious, then something will break.
Its impossible to tell via the internet but I would guess that its coming from the cranks. Make sure the crank bolts (the ones that hold the crank on the bottom bracket are as tight as possible. I've this problem a few times myself in the past.

If nessasry I can get a recording of it, my Mp3 player has the ability to do that.
Check your seatpost clamp and the saddle clamp

I promise you that its not the seatpost, unless its a ventriliquist and throws the sound down to the crank. But, just to be sure, I'll check it.
The sound only comes when I pedal, when I'm not pedaling the bike is completly silent, execept for the treads running on the pave.

Seatpost creaks can sound like they're coming from the crank. God knows I've diagnosed plenty of them. Always check the easy stuff first.

Put it up on a bike stand and get a better look/listen. It's hard to tell what you mean but it's probably an easy fix. Hope ya find it!
