View Full Version : How many Quintana Roo bikes here?
I just got a Quintana Roo Kilo frame (off of ebay). I've got to build it up now, but just wondering how many here? I may be PM'ing some of you for help.

2004 QR Kilo, Neuvation wheels, Ultegra STI's on Syntace C-2 aero bars, Flightdeck, Thompson seatpost, Forte saddle, Look Ergostem, 61cm
100% eBay, setup just the way I like it for about $850. Better than stock but need to upgrade the ders., chainrings etc to Ultegra to make it better.
What do you need help with?
Everything... It's a 1997 frame. I'm not sure yet about lots of things. Once the frame gets here I'm going to try and find the right bottom bracket and crankset. Also not sure what kind of headset it will use along with a stem. Funny thing is that when I started working on upgrading my Zipp... Most of the parts on it... are no longer in existance. I'm not sure what bike to upgrade first... LOL

I was eyeing up that frame, but balked at the last minute, I've been reliving that decision since. Congrats on your purchase.
Thank you... it was luck really. I'll do my best to build it right and not disappoint anyone.

My wife and I had a horrible trip to that region of Mexico so there's no way I could ever own one of those bikes. The name would make me think of that crappy area every time I rode it.
Good luck with your new purchase.
LOL... If it makes you feel any better, I don't think there's a place in Mexico called Zipp2001 :D

I have a Ti-Phoon! QR's are awsome tri-bikes.
Looking forward to those pics ;)
Well... I got a couple more parts for the bike on Friday. Again, items that I won on ebay. I'm thinking that I'm going to build this bike completly from ebay. LOL! Got front and rear 2005 Shimano 105 brake calipers, levers/shifters, front and rear deraileurs. I'm still waiting for my handlebars and stem. All I need now are: headset, crankset, bottom bracket, seatpost, seat and seat binder. After that I just have to put the thing together ;)
Here's a site that I've started for it: www.specclub.com/bernie/97qroo.htm
yeah, my Zipp is my dedicated TT bike, so I'm going to build this more as a road bike. I'll most likely put some clip-ons that I have from back in the day. I wanted something that wasn't as extreme for going for a ride. Don't get me wrong, the Zipp is a blast to ride, but in most cases it's not too practicle. :(
