i have bent my wheels kinda bad on my bmx and to save some money my mate almost completely staraintened his really bent back wheel by using a spoke tightner, he put alot of tension were the main bends were, sould i do the same, he said he'll give me a hand if i want it done.

I wouldn't. After you bend a piece of metal and then bend it back, the structure of the metal is disrupted and the wheel will be that much more prone to bend next time you take a jump or something. If you have the money, buy a new stronger rim, and if you don't you could probably get away with straightening the old one until you save some money, you'll just have to take it easy when you ride.

Rims dont really bend. If you actually put a kink in it then throw it away. If its just "warped" then yes you can straighten it out with a spoke key and some patience while you learn. Once you get it set you should be checking it weekly. Do you still have all your spokes? Are they seriously damaged in any way?

Rims dont really bend.
so what do you call it when you must put alot of tension on one side and no tension on the other?

Those spokes will probably be breaking soon. He now has a wheel with uneven tension. Bent wheels that need a lot of tension on the spokes should be replaced. Get a new wheelset, but buy a quality wheelset. Make sure that the spokes have been properly tensioned and stress relieved. A good set of 36 or 48 spoke wheels are incredibly strong.

Rims dont really bend.
I'll ride whatever the hell he's riding...here outside of the land of make-believe, rims bend all the time. Straightening them out with spoke tension is a sure way to break spokes and bend 'em even more. If the rim isn't TOO awful bad it can be bent back using a couple different techniques (often with a mallet and 2x4), but the more you bend something, especially alloy, the more likely it is to bend again, or fail completely.
