Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
i'll be up there from monday morning till wednesday night. i'll have my brakeless 48x15, so if you wanna ride, it'll either need to be flatish or you'll have to go easy on me.
I'm staying with a friend on Grace street.
any idea if that Re-Cycles place has chain rings? cause i wouldnt mind switching down a few teeth for the time i'm up there

While I'm not sure I'd go to RVA for a vacation-- I live here, after all-- have fun.
I'm not certain just what re-cycles stocks re:chainrings, as I haven't looked. Most of the stuff in their store is used, although they do carry some new stuff. Probably worth a check, likely cheaper than Rowlett's; Agees may not know what a chainring is.
I would gear down. With that gearing, you'll have trouble heading into the bottom or going to the river, unless you have superman's legs. The river is the best thing in town IMHO, though it's low now. I ride 42/15 on the PX and 42/16 on the UO. I'm also ancient and cranky, tho.
welllll its not like a "okay i saved up all my cash and i'm gonna get me some R&R all up in the 804! helloooooo fine hotel"
i lived up there for a few months before i dropped out of VCU, alot of my friends are up there. I'm going now because where i work the owners are Jewish and shutting down for Rosh Hashana.
right now my only plans are: bike ride with friends, eat at panda vedge, and checkout out re-cycles

I dropped out of VCU as well. A fine BF tradition is started. Seriously, enjoy. It's a nice time of year here, not too hot, pretty pleasant.
There are fine hotels in Richmond?
