A friend and I were out riding Wednesday evening. We were crossing the intersection with the light and walk signal and a big:eek: 4x4 ran a left turn signal and I came to within about 2 ft of inspecting the underside of his truck for mud on his frame. Let's say it scared me good. I've been hit before in Texas as a kid.
What can be done about something like this where there is a willful disobedience for the laws. Can we report it along with his plate #? Would it do any good? Sometimes in Portland, there are people who run red lights and it really:mad: :irritated makes me mad.

Sorry yall, I'm on a soap box close to home!!

You should try to report it. Having a witness will bolster your report, but still it will probably just be noted on the person's record, if there is such a thing. I think you should ask the State Patrol, not the police, whether it is worth doing. Glad to hear you're ok!

Report it by all means along with the license plate number, a description of the driver, and a description of the vehicle.

In my city, the police DO follow up with complaints. Maybe they will do the same in your town.

I had a similar incident happen to me about a month ago. If you got his license plate - report him to the police. I reported the dirtbag who almost made me part of the roadway, and now he is charged with 5 different offenses.

Report him for you, and the next guy that he may not miss!

You guys OBVIOUSLY live somewhere FAR different from where I am. Any kind of traffic offense here MUST have been witnessed by a police officer. It can be frustrating sometimes, but it DOES keep me from calling in and reporting some jerk that irritated me for some particular reason.
