Hey guys. I just got a Motobecane 500HT. I know that they can be expensive but I got this one at about half price even shipping it 1200 miles via UPS. I have since put it together and ridden a few miles. I have noticed that my disc breaks are rubbing on the brake... on the side I cannot adjust. What can I do? Should I have it professionally tuned soon?

No, keep the FD you have until it fails. It is stupid to upgrade parts before they break.

No, keep the FD you have until it fails. It is stupid to upgrade parts before they break.

Unless the current parts are inadequate for what you're doing. But in your case (especially with a FD where it doesn't matter all that much) leave it till it breaks.

It could still suck before it does. You wouldnt take a Trek 1200 road bike off a dirt jump, that should be "replaced" before it breaks.

But if something is not broken, it does not mean that it is a perfectly good part all, nor even a good part. I just took my FD (acera) off because I hated it so much. It wasn't broken physically, but it was so clunky and slow that it was in effect broken... perhaps definitions of "broken" are varying here- :D

It wasn't set up correctly is my bet. A FD is the one part on a bike that you should have a hard time telling the difference between a high end part and a low end.
