my chain is kinked, and chewed up so it is skipping. i have a 9 speed with raceface cranks and rings. i would like to put an 8 speed chain that is very new, but will it work. it has the same number of links, and i dont see a problem, but you guys are the experts. what do i need to look out for as far as the chain working correctly. or why can't i use the chain. thanks.
If it works at all, it will likely work poorly.9 speed chains are thinner because cog spacing is closer. There are also different width 8 speed chains,so which one you have may work more or less poorly.
