Bicycle Mechanics - Ultrega Triple Crank With XT Drivetrain?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hi
What would be needed to use an Ultrega Triple 53/39/30, out of a new Ultrega 10 speed drivetrain, crank with an XT drivetrain 11/34 9 speed?
IOW, what would need to be changed out if anything - chains, cassettes, and the like?
Thanks
^^^....A FD that will handle a 53 ring, and work with your shifter.

My friend runs this exact setup on his Allez. It's very versatile. He uses a friction shifter for his front mech. If you want indexed though, I think that Shimano just released some Ultegra shifters for flat bars. You wouldn't need to change your rear at all.
The bike currently has XT brifters. Would these work? I'd need to change the FD to something other than XT?
Thanks for the replies.
Sometimes mtb front shifters will work with a road FD.Try it before spending alot of money. Also make sure your cable routing supports bottom pull road front or use a pull reverser.
