Finaly finished my 2003 Giant AC Team.
I got a whole load of new parts two weeks ago:

A Hayes 203mm HMX2 DH mech front disc
A Kooka 160 XC rear mech disc (Very impressed by this so far - could well give the BB5 a run for its money - cheaper too)
A Kooka riser bar
Brand new sliver DMR V8 pedals and Pink zip-grips
XT brake and gear cables + outers.
Plus a Mavic XM321 rim on a deore rear hub.

And the cream on the cake arrived today, a second hand 2003 Sherman DC Slider (recently serviced by TF Tuned).

The photos are two big to post, so heres some links:

Only had the chance for a quick 5 minute ride so far, but so far so amazingly good :D. The sherman is amazing, I can't belive I got it for £150 (p+p)! The best thing is after scrounging all the cash for this for the last few months, I can finaly have a social life again - I'm off down the pub

I’m not too sure of the total build cost. The frame was £250 from E-bay (which included a headset) and the Forks £150 from southerndownhill.com. Some of the parts came from my old Saracen Dirt Jumper (the transmission/gear levers/brake levers/Stem/Saddle) which although only cost me £300 new I’ve easily spent around another £300 on upgrades and keeping it going. As well as the parts listed above I also had to buy a new cassette, front derailleur, chain and bottom bracket.

The rear derailleur is a Shimano Acrea that was originally on my DJ bike. Seen as my Saracen was 7 speed and it sacrificed itself, as it where, for this bike, the AC is 7 speed as well. This way the parts are a little bit more robust and cheaper to replace.

Yeah that is a very neat looking bike. Do you freeride it?

I built it up with the intention of starting to do some free riding – but still being able to ride xc and dj if I want (even with that Sherman on the front its still quite light). I took for an xc ride yesterday and it felt so good even up some of the steep hills we have round my parts. This afternoon after work I’m taking to my local dirt jumps to put it through its paces there.
