Cyclocross - Torn between 3 bikes

I have been lurking here for a while and learned alot. The last bike i bought was in '91 a GT mountain bike that is ride occasionally. I want a bike i can leave out of my driveway and ride anywhere i want and the CX bikes seem to fit my needs nicely. I've been to all my local shops and very few stock any CX stuff. Well last night i finally rode a Specialized Tricross comp. It was sweet especially compared to my 15year old beast. But for the money of the Tricross the Cannondale Cyclocross disc is also an option. I guess I'm torn about what to do. I would like to race sometime down the road so i wonder if the disc on the Cannondale will be allowed in the future. My third choice and in my mind the wisest is the Jake the Snake. So, does anyone have any advice for me?

I have a Cannondale Cyclocross Disc bike. I love it. Has been very good to me. I ride almost exclusively on the road. I get some looks thats for sure with those Avids hanging on there.

I am also looking at the Cannondale CX. Currently I have a 1999 Cannondale touring bike, which seems very sold. Now I would like to get a lighter bike. Anyone knows about the weight comparison between CXs?
Also, I have modified my touring bike bar to be higher, I am not sure if this means I should better get a flat bar. I do a lot of commuting, I am concerened if I get a flat bar, it maybe unconfortable for long distance.
Any advice?

Have you tested them all? It really is what feels right for you. In example, the Jake is a great value, good bike...but a 500meter test ruled it out for myself as I was too stretched out. Good Luck!

I have not tested them all. I cant seem to find any shops with them in stock. I am now looking at the Fuji Cross Pro since i found a shop that has 05 models for ~$900. I am hoping to test one this week and see if I like it. Other than that one shop will have the JTS in about 4 weeks to see. But the weather is going to start getting worse and i want to ride soon. So if the Fuji fits I may commit.

It came down to price and availability. I found an 05 Fuji Cross Pro at a local store for $899 plus some other discounts. I couldnt pass it up. The 06 was $1500 and although their componentry are a little different it wasn't worth the $600 difference to me. I am now looking for pedals and shoes, I was leaning towards the Candy SL pedals after reading through some of the forums. As for shoes I think my best bet is to just go and try on different models.
