Hello bicycles.
I have a question that would fit into a "gear and parts" section but maybe someone here would know..
Is it possible to buy a ridiculously bright headlight, something as bright as car headlights for instance (not quite as bright realistically)? I really get freaked out about running into road-kill in the dark, but I love to bicycle at night, and I go touring a lot and don't like to stop.
Any advice?

visit the commuting forum. one thread you might look at is called "total geekiness" and there are others about "really really bright headlight" or some such. I think the really bright ones are typically HID (high intensity discharge) lights with special Ni-Cad or NiMH battery packs. Niterider (google them) is one major brand.

I have a Lupine Edison 10. Save your money, though--they cost a bundle.

It's the brightest thing out there. I'm visually impaired, but the Lupine doesn't seem to know that.
