I am a mountain biker with not much cash looking for a decent wheelset for around $100. Does anyone have any ideas of suggestions for models. I need them to be disc and rim brake compatible which limits my options. I ride mainly moderate XC. There are just so many wheels and I am not very knowledgable yet. I have been checking the OE wheels through Jenson and others but haven't bit yet.
Look on ebay. You are not going to get a great set for that price. Post some links to wheelsyou have found and maybe we can help more.
Maybe these (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=126&subcategory=1200&brand=&sku=14431&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=)
or these (http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/12012-365_SHIXS3-3-Parts-75-Wheelsets/Shimano-XT-M756-Disc-Wheelset-w_-Sun-Rhyno-Lite-Rims.htm)
Personally, I would spend the extra coin for the XT.
