Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just moved to Portland from the Philly 'burbs. Am looking for people to ride with or info on where to ride. I've been riding for a little over a year. I like single track and trails with some challenges like log rides, and drops (nothing over about 4 feet, but soon :D).
Any info would be really cool!

Forest Park on the west side has some singletrack back off the beaten path. If you're on the east side, there's Powell Butte. The good trails are off the SW side of the hill, but PB is closed to bikes when the trails are wet.

The side of Mt. Hood towards Hood River has a good network of trails, but you'll have to get a guide to find the trailheads. The Forest Service office in Zig Zag or Hood River should have maps, or you can call one of the offices in Portland. There's also trails in the Gifford Pinchot forest on the Washington side.

If you want to hook up with local riders, try PUMP (http://www.pumpclub.org/), and other LBS organized rides. The Bike Gallery (http://www.bikegallery.com/content/Bike_Gallery/BG-events-rides.html) and Bike'n'Hike (http://bikenhike.com/site/page.cfm?PageID=88) lead group rides.
