Hey everyone, I have a Norco A-line with Marz 888 fork on it. Im thinking about going HUGE for tires, I have 2.5s right now, but Im looking for 3s probably. Or 2.9s. Anyone know of some good brands that make this sizE?

You don't need a 3.0, the 888 won't fit a 3.0. Any tire over 2.7 inches is overkill.

the 888 should fit a 3.0 but i wouldnt sugest it, maxxis makes some good 2.7s and michelin makes a good 2.8

 Kinda depends on the 3.0 now doesn't it? Remember not all tires measure exactly what's printed on the sidewall

I didn't ask for opinions, thanks snoopz for the brand request. I was just wondering who made 3.0s besides Nokian. Jesus, let's be more critical.

To answer that question....Arrow makes a 3.0. It looks a lot skinnier compared to the Gazzi 3.0 but handles sooooo much better. I think it's the Arrow prime wide DH or something. The Michelin 2.8 that I run on the rear has been awesome too.

I just hope you live atop the local ski slope....
Ever had to pedal a 45lb. bicycle uphill? Try it some time....
Sounds to me like you're the "all show" type.

I live in VT. Half an hour from many ski resorts, and less than an hour from many resorts in Canada as well, Smart ass. Im not looking for an XC race.

Being a fellow north east rider, a 3.0 tire isn't a good northeast tire. I'd go for a 2.7 Minion or a 2.8 Hutchinson Octopus for northeast dh. I know the area you're in likely due to living for 5 years in NH, the minion and the octopus were the best feeling tire that I have found for the conditions.

Listen, "Smart Ass"...
Your type don't impress me, nor anyone else on here (hopefully)....
I merely stated that if you're "hung-up" about the bigger tire size, then it's obvious that you're just in it for the "show".
I could care less if you're running 6" wide tires....
I can still roast your ass anywhere, anytime. Period....
I appologize ahead for any hard feelings this post may have caused....
I apologize as well, and I am not here to impress anyone. I just seemed to have assumed your statement was calling me ignorant. I would like to try a wider tire, is that a sin in this world? Apparently to some it's forbidden. If I don't like it's performance, I'll take it off and switch to a smaller size; simple enough? This thread was simply for people to express what brands/models they have found to be good, wide tires. And in terms of "roasting my ass..." More props to your arrogance.

26x2.8 Hutchinson Octopus
26x2.7 Maxxis Minion
26x2.7 Intense 909.
26x2.5 Kenda Nevagal(Trust me, measures out to be a 2.7 in reality.)
26x2.5 Kenda Blue Groove(Same as Nevagal)
26x2.7 Maxxis High Rollers

It's all good Killer B. Thanks for your help guys. Since I've posted this thread, I've done some research, and haven't really found anything good about the Gazzis. They're ugly anyway. I have a Nevegal in the front and a Blue Groove in the back of my bike.. both 2.5s right now. I like them quite a bit. When Im ready to upgrade though, Im looking at maybe a Michelin DH32 2.8 for the front, and Maxxis Minion DHF 2.7 for the rear. Your opinion on these?

Should be an interesting set up, I didn't like the Comp32, felt really unstable when it got a bit wet.
