Make sure you wash them in dish detergent to clean off the wd-40 before putting them back on, or they could slide off.

Isopropyl alcohol squirted in under the grip will make them slippery enough to remove or replace easily and doesn't have to be cleaned off. Also known as rubbing alcohol.
Vodka will work in a pinch.

Gently prise up the end of the grip and spray between grip and bar with (cheap) aerosol hair spray. Work the grip loose (spray in more if needed). If you repeat the process when re-fitting the grips, the dried hairspray will hold the grips in place (obviously you need to leave them ~24hours after fitting for the hair goo to dry). And they smell nice ;)

Gee, I just use plain water. Same idea, though. Get a little liquid under the grip and slowly work it under until the whole grip just slides off.

If you have access to compressed air, slip the air nozzle under the lip of the grip and blow air in it. You'll be able to pull it out like if it wasn't attached to anything.

I've never used anything but plain water, a plastic knife, and patience. Just work the water in and twist back and forth until they start to give, and then work in more water. Some grips can be stuborn, especially if new from the shop where they stuck them on with something.

Ppc is right. The easiest way to remove a grip is with compressed air. I just place the air nozzle in the hole in the end of the grip I'm removing while plugging the same hole in the other grip. When the air is applied the grip will follow the nozzle as it's pulled away from the bar.

I use windex and chopsticks. Use the chopsticks to pry up the side then squirt windex under it as you advance the chopstick. I have also heard the compressed air trick works well too, but I have never had a need to try it.
