Road Cycling - I wanna show off my new toy too!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

16 miles on it. I know it's nothing - but not bad considering I'm afraid of cars!
(btw, the reflectors are already gone and see my new kitty in the left corner?)

Its beautiful. I hope my bike looks 1/4 as nice after I finish building it (with the help of my LBS, of course.) Congrats.:D
Very nice :) I like those compact Giant frames and have even considered buying one when I have the money. One question, though: what are those shiny, reflective thingies on the spokes? :p

But the wheel only comes with a 1 foot electrical cable. You wont get very far on that.

Not bad for a road bike.
BTW, what did you decide to name the cats? Cadence and ????
Looks a lot like my Giant OCR1 ! Have fun with it. It's a great bike.

I am first and foremost a mountain biker chick!
Sexy bike!
Is the handlebar angled a little on the down side or is that the way it fits you?

I'm still working all the angles and stuff to see where is the most comfortable. In fact my LBS ordered a shorter stem that I have to go get tomorrow.
(but yes, it's down a little on purpose for now)
I bought my first road bike this year also. Let the road addiction begin!!!
Cool scoot!!!!

Yesss, the call of the open road is an insidious seducer. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

For the last year I've had road tires on my mountain bike more than knobbies. There's just something nice about sitting down, cruising, and looking off into space instead of dodging roots and rattlesnakes. :)

It usually happens when you find yourself flying along the road at 35 km/h with little effort, barely poking into 70% MHR. YOuy think "wow... this is fun!"
You'll always have dirt in your blood, but as Rainman observed, "the call of the open road is an insidious seducer."

There's no reason to be scared. Road riding is a blast as well just in a different way. I'm currently in heavy road mode. I hadn't ridden a true road bike in nearly 10 years, gave it up for the ATB. Now I'm back. Just find a place you can store your ATB where it's out of the way or you can hang stuff on it like a clothes tree.;)
Nice Marvin the Martian thingo.

I like the black-and-white color scheme and the compact size... looks pretty light. Same goes for the bicycle. :)

Velocity is pronounced with a hard "k", right?
:)
