A raft of new studies suggest that cyclists, particularly men, should be careful which bicycle seats they choose.

The best seat is hard and flat - make sure you rest on the butt bones, and for godsake.... put most of your damn weight on the pedals!

If you're noticing numbness in the groin area, that might be an indication you are putting too much pressure on the nerves in that region. But it's not a problem that sneaks up on you, you should have plenty of warning. Just change your seat, position, whatever works to get of off that nerve.
I've found the softer seats to be more of a problem. I discovered that my harder seat I use now makes me perch on my "sit bones," and I don't get numbness in the groin.

This study is presented by Dr. Schrader, I'll wait to hear from Dr Presta before forming an opinion :D
