I've watching an ebay auction for a pair of campagnolo dust caps -for campy pedals like gran sport, Neuvo, -etc.. Now, these are chrome painted campy plastic dust caps, and the bidding just ended at $58.00 freakin dollars (plus $5 shipping). I really needed a replacement dust cap for my gran sport pedals to keep the gunk outa my bearings, -but not that bad. Who bids up to $58.00 for plastc campy dust caps?? - when you can pay $26.00 for an old pair of campy gran sport pedals with dust caps...I tell you, It is Giant Crazyness.

Yeah-pah...I thought so also, until I overhauled my gran sport pedals. Chrome plated plastique indeed.

Another rather ridiculous bidding war... A Cinelli French sized stem went for $132.46!!! Most of the other French stems listed either don't sell or go for around $5-$10.

EDIT: I noticed the buyer also bought some VINTAGE CAMPY CABLE GUIDES!!!! for about $50, and a VINTAGE MOTOBECANE FRAME!! with wheels for over $1,000.......

I guess some people are very dedicated to owning a vintage ride.

if I were to sell something on ebay, would there be anything (besides qualms) to stop me from making a fake username and inflating the price of my own goods by bidding on them towards the end?

Ebay forbids it, as does the law in most states. Otherwise, no ;)

From the auction for the cinelli french stem:

I can hand deliver at October 15th frea market swap meet in Tokyo at Sekaidobashi

I take back everything I've ever said about stereotypes being inappropriate.

i have a suntour superbe lockring that has a typed lable on it that says 'lock ling'.

many asian languages don't/can't differentiate between the /l/ and /r/ phonemes in western languages.

a buddy of mine has a picture that he took of the elevator panel in a very fancy hotel that has a button labled 'robby'.

Recently somebody told me that 'MKS is it?' are direct copies of Campy pedals and as such parts are interchangeable.
