Has anyone ever had any experience with Orbea road frames? Anything at all about them is welcome. Thanks!

I know that they came to fame with sponsoring the Euskatel-Euskadi team. Roberto Leiseka and David Exebarria ride them.
My friend recently bought one and loves it. Beautiful blue/white paintjob and looks as exotic as a Colnago.
that's all I know about it:)

Some of the Orbea compact frames are built like the Cinelli Starlight frames. The compacts use the starship tubing with the same post assembly heat treatment. They are supposed to be good accelerators and climbers. I am a Starlight rider and love the geometry and handling. Some of the Orbea bikes are more traditional in their designs.
There is a web site for them, use the Orbea name as a search word.

Hi, Velo!

I can't speak for them from personally, but I will say this. The top amateur team in our area is sponsored by a company that provides them with a very nice budget, not only paying for uniforms and travel expenses, but team bikes for the riders; I think they even get new ones every year. They are very serious, and membership is by selection only. They have the budget to buy whatever brand they want, and the team leaders selected Orbea for their team bike. No special deals, no freebies. A young friend of mine was invited to join the team this year and absolutely loves the Orbea. He won a 100 mile race and has finished very well in several others. They certainly are good-looking, too.
