Hi!!!
As times have changed I got to thinking of the past and bike prices maybe going to the sky as demand for them goes ballistic with the gas prices. In the 1970's (funny gas prices went ballistic then too) I was living and working in the New England area. I knew someone had stolen the old Schwinn cruser from the '50s from our garage. Then one day a co-worker came into work and told me about some noises he had heard one night. There was a big pickup truck pulling a very long trailer and 5 other guys going from yard to yard breaking through fences and stealing bikes by the handful......he never called the cops and just watched his and his kids bikes walk away. He went back to sleep. (nice guy) He was afraid, he told me and didn't want any trouble.
This probably explains where my old classic crusier went. I hope this kind of thieft does not happen again. So I would give this as a warning to keep your eyes open to it and report it. And keep your bike out of sight of these thieves.
I wanted to start this thread to get others to describe any other odd types of thieft so we can open our eyes to it.
"Out of sight out of mind!"
