I have been drinking strictly osmosis water for a while now from our home osmosis system and it occurred to me that perhaps this may not be the best thing to do since it is stripping out the minerals. Does anyone have any pros or cons they can offer regarding drinking only osmosis water? ( I am concerned about the pesticide and chemical levels in this area since we are smack dab in the middle of extensive corn and soybean farming. )

reverse osmosis water is delicious and comes out fairly ionically
balanced.
Deionised water, and some RO units have a DI cartridge, strip
almost everything from it, so, you would be deprived of certain
minerals etc..
Interesting trivia, truely pure water is an insulator to electricity,
in fact, that's how its' purity is measured.

Just think of all the crap that it is taking out. I take it you water comes from a well.
Your diet should cover Calcium,Iron,,Zinc etc already.
For any water question regarding RO, ozone, UV etc try AWWA.org
The only thing I personally would be worried about is having the flouride removed from my water. I think the minerals found in water are too few to make a difference, but from what I've read the flouride added to water makes a big difference for teeth.
Too much flouride can actually rot your teeth, so you should be checking on how much is in the water. My local water supply uses a lot of flouride. Just brush your teeth every day and your good. I use R/O DI water for myself and my salt water tanks.

True, I try to ensure I keep a proper intake of minerals, preferably naturally but I also take a supplement to back it up. I was worried that it was stripping out minerals I might not be able to get through these methods.

I never thought about the fluoride. I do brush at least three times a day because I definitely want to postpone false teeth for as long as possible. People have to go through such pain and difficulty, mentally and emotionally, when they have to contend with false teeth.
My water is town water but being in the farm belt I still don't trust it, too much chance of seepage into the aquifers. It gets softened when it enters the house so I have to run it through the RO anyway to get drinkable water.
Thanks for the input and the great website. I feel a lot better now. I guess I made the right choice.

I have not drank city water in many years I do not even use it to brush my teeth. The water around here would remind many of an over chlorinated swimming pool. The funny thing is when I stopped drinking city water I stopped getting cavities. Maybe the over flouridation is what was causing my problem?

Yep. Too much of it can actually rot the teeth.
