So. i just got these nifty Vittoria shoes with old school slotted cleats(thanks Luckycat!! ) But anytime i start a sprint or go out of the saddle for any reason my ankle bone colides with the center of the crank. Does not feel good. I adjusted the cleat to be as far away but needless to say float isnt an option. Is this just bad technique. I assume its just my fault or am i just genetically giantly ankle-boned. There not like the size of small chilren but they are very near to cankles. either way what can i do to fix this?

adjust the cleats so that your feet are toed-in slightly when they're in the pedals.
(either that or get a rasp and take a couple off mm off each ankle-bone).

Yes Altering the human design using powertools is definately the recomended solution.
