Like many posts I've read here, I'm new to recumbent bikes and in fact I'm thinking about ordering my first. Unfortunately there's absolutely NO recumbent bike dealers anywhere near me, so test rides are a little tough. In the 20+ years I've been riding motorcycles in and around the Santa Cruz Mountains (popular roadbike roads), I think I've seen maybe two recumbent bikes.

Not wanting to spend upwards of $3,000 on a bike/trike I found the Actionbent Tadpole an interesing idea, but wonder if it would be a good fit for someone in the 6'4" to 6'5" 235lb range? I know the boom extends forward, but does it extend enough?

I'm also 6'4", and would like to know if I'd fit...

According to their website, most of their models will fit someone with an X-seam of 50". Sit on the floor with your back against the wal, keep your legs flat against the floor, and measure from the wall to the heel of your shoes. This is your X-seam. Actionbent thinks a bit longer X-seam might work, but you'd need to lengthen the chain.

Cool, thanks.. I wondered what that "x-seam" was.

In my bare feet (didn't have any shoes downstairs) I'm at about 49".
