Has anyone here used the old Super Champion "Mixte" rims with modern 700c clinchers? These were the rims made to accept either sewups or clinchers. Just wondering if they'll work well with modern clincher beads, or if I should never use these... I really want to give 'em a try, as I have a few NOS pair in 36 hole. Thanks!

I seem to recall seeing somewhere that the beads on the older
tires were somehow different (thicker?) and that new tires
had a tendency to blow off the mixte rims of old. . .
at least I think I heard that.
