I'd recommed reading some of these threads and icebike.org riding techniques and checking peter white's studded tires page for everyone about safe riding on icy/snowy conditions. I've nothing to add. And IMO after that, if you fall, then it's your own fault, but some of us must learn things the hard way. I'd probably would have had only one or two falls instead of the total 15 or so had I done that (and if these pages had existed back then). But then again, I'm not keen on off-roading in winter.
