Cyclocross - fixed gear

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
1. Can you race a fixed gear in cyclocross in a offical race --USCF race
2. Is a brake required by USCF?
I know rule vary by event. I can Time trial my fixed gear legally, but I cannot race it in a crit. I can road race in unofficial races only on a fixed gear.
Thank you.

not sure about uscf, but there's a guy who's been killing it in the socal cross races on a fixed gear. he won the men's elite last race. freakin' impressive.
Pretty sure you can run fixed at most races. I recently rode my pista using a
freewheel & no one noticed (or cared) that I was only running a front brake.
Later I crashed and had to disengage my brake so I finished the race riding
a brakeless singlespeed (!)
I was told that bullhorns are not allowed as they are considered similar to
bar ends which apparently pose a safety risk.
