I would like a GPS/HRM, which, besides standard functions, uses standard batteries, is somewhat waterproof, shows coordinates, elevation, works at -20F, and is useable at night. Is there anything out there like that?

Appears to have what you want. Don't know about the -20F, though. Where are you going to use it that has such temperatures? Northern Alaska or Canada?

Wow that's not bad! I didn't know there was a 305. or going to be. It needs to function well in the cold because I'm in Minnesota. I need regular batteries because sometimes I might be out for a weeks on end, not in the cold though. I also ran my first 10 miles on Saturday which was a major ego booster for me. I never thought that I'd ever run 10 miles. So I just wanna, uhm, reward myself!

i dont know about -20 but i used my garmin legend cross country skiing, put it in a mesh pocket on my back pack and it worked in the cold and is water/weather proofi would recamend using rechargable batt. if that is possible my garmin legend uses 2 aa size non rechargable last about a day to 2 days worth of heavy use (all day)
