i have a 99 z4 alloy which does not have disc brake mounts. is there an adapter that would allow me to use disc brakes? i was looking to go avid mechs up front and v in the back

If it dosent have mounts, then it probably isnt made to use disc brakes.....the extra torque and *****

what if i got a lower from a 99 z1 or z2 with the disc mounts. would they be swappable

Signs are pointing to yes.....but hopefully somebody else will help me out.

i heard that if you use discs on a fork not made for discs, it will break your fork because of the extra torque genterated by the discs

I'm no engineer, but I think the extra torque would actually go to the hub/wheel, not the fork.

Regardless, since there is no "adapter" that I know of, you should be able to swap to a newer fork that has disc mounts.

See what your Local Bike Shop says, and give them some business......
