Road Cycling - replacement chains for hyperglide 9-speed?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Does anybody have any experience with SRAM chains on a Shimano hyperglide 9-speed (Ultegra, if it matters) drive-train? They make a chain they advertise for 9-speeds... does it work as well, or sufficiently well?
I occasionally like to remove my chain to give it a thorough cleaning, and despise the way hyperglides require you to buy special pin replacements.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Bob,
The primary LBS I use highly recommends SRAM chains to the extent that they remove the stock chains from most new bikes they assemble and replace them with SRAM. They put a 9 speed SRAM on when I upgraded to 9-speed Shimano HG cassette. It seems to be working great. I don't remove my chain to clean it. I find the Park chain cleaner does a very good job. I use Simple Green instead of any of the chain cleaners.

I agree with the SRAM chains, also known as Sedis, they're FAR better than Shimano.
I've worked in several shops and all stocked/used Sedis/SRAM chains, even a shop that had "Shimano nuts" for owners
If I really want to get my chain clean I soak it in kerosene then Diesel oil, then soak it again in another container of clean oil, again, and then wash it with very hot water and dishwashing detergent, rinse with very hot water and relube..
I never throw my solvents away I recycle them by emptying the dirty kerosine/diesel into a glass container and let it settle until clear and re-use.

Thanks, y'all. I think I'll pick up an SRAM.
