View Full Version : I need a caption for my cartoon.
I also have this posted on a metal detecting forum. I draw a cartoon and post it asking for ideas as to what to say for the caption. Im just curious as to what ideas I'll get from a bicycling forum.....

How about "What are you, stoned?"
"Found any arrowheads yet?"

No....MINE was!
Now now...tell ya what I'm gonna do. I'll whip up some more featuring bikes and the folks who ride and work on them. Don't know why. I never seen a cartoon in a bicycle magazine. But for the good of the forum I'll do it.

All I need is a Brachiosaurus head nickel dated 1,000,000 B.C.E. to complete my collection!

Or "Do you think she would have taken better care of that ring if you had not grabbed her by the hair?"
All I need is a Brachiosaurus head nickel dated 1,000,000 B.C.E. to complete my collection!
Thats pretty good. I.m going to think around that one.

I don't have a suggestion, but...there is a metal detecting forum?! really? I had no idea!

How about brontosaurus head nickel?
If you know the brontosaurus-apatosaurus connection, you can build in a second joke!

Oh man, I missed the whole point of you posting to a cycling forum. The caption SHOULD read:
"If you put the round thingie on the end of your stick and the wheel next to your garage together, we could go for a ride."
"You know, bamboo tubing and a basalt disc would lighten that up and give you better handling..."

"You may as well leave your hat on. We'll be back here in fifteen minutes, anyway."
(You may have to redraw the cartoon to use this caption)
Andy Singer
Andy Singer is a great cartoonist. I love his techniques and style.....and he does do a lot of bicycle theme cartoons but i never seen any of his stuff in any bicycling magazine either.
You know, Dang, this thread is a great idea.
The cartoonists among us can draw up something, and submit it for a caption contest.
Or, submit a caption and draw a cartoon around it.
I agree, Andy Singer is a great cartoonist and, I presume, cyclist.
Also, remember the problems Calvin and his dad had with their bikes?
Hell I'm getting a better response from you guys then from the detectors forum.
Check out this one. I think I pissed off a few with this one. You know, metal detectng is a noble past-time.

Yeah I do remember. I loved Calvin and Hobbs! I can't remember who created him but he was a genious. And did he not quit because the comic industry had became a back stabbing field?
Opus was another good one that vanished from the local paper.

Calvin and Hobbes was created by Bill Watterson. Because of his anti-marketing sentiment, he had a contentious relationship with his syndicate. Every "Calvin" sticker you see is bootlegged.

Opus the Penguin was originally in Bloom County by Berke Breathed. He also showed up in a later strip called Outland. Breathed had NO PROBLEMS with marketing!
