hello everyone
i currently own a BIANCHI SPORT SX and looking to upgrade to a new bike. i am torn between the BIANCHI IMOLA and the LEMOND BUENOS AIRES.they both go for around $1600. the LEMOND seems to have a nicer overall mix of gear. any opinions out there would be of great help.thanks....michael t. AFTER receiving informative feedback, i have upgraded my bianchi choice to the VIGORELLI model. this is very comparable to the BUENOS AIRES and would apprciate any feedback.....thanks....michael t.

Gear is good.Fit is more important.

Hi,

Something sounds wrong. Bianchi offers two 'race' models not made by the Reparto Corse in Italy....there is the Imola, and the Vigorelli. Both have the same frame which is Reynolds 631 I think.

The Vigorelli goes for about 1600 and the Imola goes for around 1300.

If you are trying to compare to the Lemond Id look at the Vigorelli as it is Ultegra equipped instead of 105 like the Imola.

Im partial to Bianchi so Id choose the Bianchi, I also dont like the weird Lemond frame geometry. Oh, and if they are trying to sell you an Imola for 1600 you are getting ripped off!!! MSRP is around 1300 for that bike....check the bianchi site.

I currently have the Talladega, last years model that is now the Vigorelli. I really enjoy the bike. I was just at the lbs and they had the Vigorelli on close out for 1260 full ultegra.

I bought a Vigorelli in April 02 and I love it. I like the steel ride, the frame is well made (tubes, welds etc), and it's well equipped. The traditional geometry fits me perfectly--everyone's different, of course. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

I looked at both Bianchi and Lemond and liked them both. I ended up going with the Lemond mostly because the closest LBS carrying Bianchi was in Philadelphia and the Lemond was carried by an LBS that is much closer. I liked both, but have no regrets about my choice. It is difficult these days to make an informed decision about fit, since most shops don't provide for an extended real-life test ride.

I have a Lemond Zurich and love it and have talked to many riders that have the BA and love them as well. I really don't think you can go wrong with either, however if you shop around a little you may find last years Lemond for around $1200.
