Folding Bikes - Help folding a Bridgestone Picnica

Hi all. I bought my husband a Bridgestone Picnica yesterday at a yard sale for $2 (yes, you read that right :p .).

We can't find any instructions on it on the 'net due to its age -- can someone help us out on how to fold this baby?

I looked at those pictures b4, and i can't figure out the folding proces. Not a clue ha ha. But you got a great deal, how does it ride?

Well, you basically soved the problem... I followed your link, followed the third picture in the second row and found this:

... With one grip at the seat tube (could also be the beam connecting the seat tube and the (almost) head tube) it practically collapses. Very Impressive. ...

I dunno, based on a look or two (heck, I got nothing better to do this morning), I think there must be some kind of a latch under the bottom bracket. Once that is unlatched, the downtube and chainstay move downward until the headtube and seat tube meet up. There may also be some disconnection of the top tube and seat stays.

Two dollars? As Daffy duck would say " You are dethspicable! Congratulations on your find also check the Yellow Jersey bike shop site, i think they have some pictures of a picnica.

There's one on eBay right now - item 6569784751 - with unfolded and folded pics. Looks like the seatstays squeeze together (or apart) and hinge "outward", and the seattube and headtube then lay back.

Got it! The eBay seller was nice enough to tell me how to do it. You squeeze the two bars in the back (behind the rear reflector) -- squeeze them toward each other and the bike basically collapses by itself. Sweet!
