just ordered a bike from Walmart and paid $53.00 + shipping. This bike really stinks and I want to ditch it to buy a nicer one. So, if you're interested in a really crappy bike for only $25 right out of the box, just let me know. Maybe I didn't assemble it correctly or something, but to me it's pretty bad. Sort of a disgrace to bikes in general. Let me know...
I know that I have seen posts about crappy Wal-Mart bikes here, but this one is kind of funny. And $53 for shipping a bike from Wal-Mart? It is already boxed.

I think $53.- is a price of the bike.

You're right, I misread that in haste. But still, what did the person expect for $53, and something they have to put together. I wonder what the instructions look like for assembly of a bike purchased off WalMart's website? They put disclaimers on their website regarding the use of safety helmets and gear, but never mention anything about ensuring proper assembly of the bike.

You'd probably be better off assembling it yourself anyway. I hear that the people that walmart pays, get paid by the bike and can do it in 3 minutes! No trued wheels, no brake adjustment no seat adjustment, etc. Other walmart issue is only a few sizes.
The only thing good about walmart is they have a 90 day return policy. Makes you wonder why the sellor didnt just return the bike to the local walmart and get the money that way.
Maybe the next purchase will move into the $60-dollar range plus shipping.

Probably because he (and I am assuming a he based on the fact that the only Wal-Mart bike for $53 is listed as a men's bike) would have to ship it back. It also got me thinking about the proliferation of Wal-Marts, and who doesn't live close enough to one to go pick-up a bike. Especially in Philly. It is a mere $2.00 on the bus down to Wally-World.

Maybe he's trying to make a profit and he really only paid $25 for it.
i think craigslist should ban any of these crappy X-mart bikes. When I see the subject line of "Great city bike!" and open up to see an Iron Horse or a Pacific, I am enraged. Let's advocate for craigslist banning that filth. Or at least setting up a special button, right next to the Spam? button. I can see it now: "Flag this crappy Huffy?"
