What are anyones thoughts of the F1X pulling a B.O.B. ibex single wheel trailer for touring. Anything I should be considering or worried about?

Thanks.........Jaymi

I'm thinking this is a serious question if you went to the trouble of posting it twice, but I'm also thinking that this isn't the best idea. I've pulled my loaded BOB trailer with a few different bikes and my racing bikes always did the most poorly. While a cyclocross bike is pretty beefy, I don't know if this bike was designed for this kind of abuse. The trailer puts some pretty serious twisting forces on the frame and I've gottens some nasty speed wobbles on long descents. I would check with Felt first off to make sure that the frame can handle what is basically loaded touring, even though you are pulling a trailer.

A better solution might be a good steel hardtail mountain bike that can take the abuse.
Just my idea.

Where are you planning on going? And why such a top of the line bike for touring? Not that there is anything wrong with that, just a poor man's curiosity.

If you have to use a racing bike to pull a trailer, pull a two-wheeler. I've also pulled a BOB behind my light road bike just for the heck of it and it felt too squirrely....

Yeah, posted a couple of times not being sure who might be reading where. So, I stumble across this bike in Portand and fall in love with it. The owner of the shop was using one for commuting. ie. fenders, rack etc....using it everyday. Not just being race specific. So, I've since purchased the bike and have some grand visions of using the bike on combined road/trail overnights. Also doing some longer distance road specific touring lasting upward of 1-2 weeks.

Thanks for your response. I'll get ahold of felt and see what they have to say.
