Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - good 27" tire for snow?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. So I'm LOVING the fixed thing, I don't want to ride anything else right now, but it's getting cold, and soon I'll be up to my toptube in snow.
Last winter I rode a mountain bike with knobbies, and I probably will again, but if I want to ride the fixie, (and I DO) I'll need some more aggressive tires.
Does anyone know of a snow worthy tire for 27" rims? I'm starting to wish I'd sprung for a 700c wheelset.

Last winter in boston I rode all winter on cheap 27x1 1/4 touring tires/slicks.
I may invest in a set of 27" knobbies for this winter, and possibly to explore a little fixed CX and MTB.
Harris cyclery has a pretty decent selection of 27 inche tires, including a fwe knobby varities.
Your local LBS should be able to order all, if not more of these 27" tires.

Tioga bloodhounds look perfect! ...except I have an allergic reaction to spending $50 on winter tires. for reference I spent $20 last winter on a pair of GEAX Blades which wore fairly fast, but there is still enough tread to get through another winter.
Does anyone know of a place that has cheap knobbies for 27"? Now maybe I'm really asking too much...

I don't think they make 27" tires, but that would be pretty badass if they did. Pricey though, but studs might be a partial antidote to my spending allergy

I believe that pyramid makes a cheap (~$12) 27" knobby. Just go to your lbs and have them show you a J+B catalog.

Problem solved! To my great surprise my LBS had a pair of Pyramid 27x1 3/8 knobbies for $12 each.
Just what the doctor ordered.
