were they normal toe straps, i'd just get another pair, but...

about six months ago i bought a set of Errebi "sprint" double toe straps for $30 (when the "house of track" guy got in the fight with EAI and was selling everything at cost). i didn't need them at the time, so i tossed them in the parts box.

last night, i finally got around to installing them, but as i pulled one of the straps through the tight hole in a Sylvan pedal, it split into two pieces.

the glue that holds the leather and plastic lamination together had dried out and cracked or something.

can i easily reglue these? what kind of glue should i use?

thanks!

Find a Tandy Leather shop somewhere handy, and pick up a bottle of "Leather Weld", looks like elmers, but dries clear and is tougher than woodpecker lips. Get the old cleaned off good and you should be good to go...

Brunning,
Sadly I had the same thing happen to me, it was a real pain and I eventually contacted the seller, Ben's Bike, and they asked for a few pics and I sent them in and got replacement ones free. What I did differently when I put the new ones on was file the holes the straps go through on the pedals (I have Sylvans as well) so there was more room and they fit much better and didn't split. Perhaps if you file it and try to glue them they'll work. Good Luck!
