My sister's neighbor is selling his '99 Trek Fuel. I'm new to mountain biking, but I live in Colorado and finally got on some single track (it was called Captain Jacks) and found it so much fun that I want to buy a bike. I rode rented bikes the only other times I went. Soooo.... For a 1999 Trek Fuel that has a carbon fibre frame with chips in the paint (a window broke and hit the bike, but the integrity of the fibre seems good, no delamination etc), it has twist grip shifting, instead of the thumb and forefinger type that the rented bikes I rode had, and the bike has front and rear suspension (there's a Fox gas shock on the back) I could get the bike for $600. Besides the poor sentence structure, how does that sound? I think I'm excited, as the one biking friend I have said the bike was $2500 new, confirming what the owner told me. Should I buy it, or what? When I road it around the block, it shifted great and the breaks and shocks felt good too.
