I was not aware the Mag 21 was an air fork, which I don't think it is.

there is a hole to pump air into to build up the pressure. the mag21 was an oil fork (whatever that means???) but you could put air into it to adjust dampening.

The Mag21 is an oil-damped, air-sprung fork. It typically takes 40-60 psi depending on your weight. I weigh about 165 pounds and typically used 40-45 psi. Because the legs have negative springs to cushion the top-out, the fork will be missing some of its stroke if you underpressurize it. Heh... I believe I still have a pair of the long-travel spacers hanging around for the Mag21, too. Quite a fork... it was my first suspension fork and I really enjoyed mine.
