i only have a hand pump, and i need a pressure gauge for my schader valves. is there an option besides geting a floor pump with one?
You could get a shrader to presta adapter for $1 at your lbs then just use a standard pressure gauge.

could i take it on and off easily?
If you have schrader valves then you can get a pressure gauge at any auto parts store. Be sure it hasa high enough range for your tires.
If you really meant that you need a gauge for preta valves, then you can either buy a presta gauge or use an adapter if you don't want to get a pump with a gauge. better to get a pump though. If you are going to check pressure, you may as well top off the tires anyway.
