OK, not quite fair. Not ugly yet. However, when I strip the paint, it will be. I have never seen rust on a bike like this. by the lugs, by the cable guides. what gives. The guy that owned it, is not a masochist. Was this bike prone to rusting? Specifically, it is the super professional (all campy nr). Worth restoring? I got it for FREE.

If it is only near the head lugs and by the brake cable guides, it may be due to indoor roller or windtrainer rider, when the sweat dripping from the rider tends to collect in these areas. If it is in the majority of the lugs and guides, then it may not have been properly rinsed after the preparation stage, prior to painting. In the latter case, there will also be rust inside the tubes. Whether it justifies restoration will depend on the amount of rust. You need to investigate further. Regardless, you have free Campagnolo NR components!
