I may have inadvertently purchased a stolen track bike. Send me your serial number. If I have a match I will return it.

if i were in hir shoes... well, i'd hate to be in that situation, because i'd be biting my freakin lip over how good of a deal i got. i wonder how much the person bought for a possibly-stolen bike...

A bit of description can't hurt.

Sounds like a friend proably pulled the "Dude, no ****ing way that should have cost $50"
Props for being honest.

How does one know if they bought a stolen bike? I mean, obviously if a crackhead sells you a shiny Cinelli track for $100, then it's probably stolen, but still..

...gotta watch out for the crackheads. Esp if they're selling a Mac Powerbook for $200 (http://www.viceland.com/issues/v11n11/htdocs/ihustle.php)

A friend of a friend can get me pretty much anything I want:

new, slightly used laptops for $100

new, slightly used hi-end cellphones for $30

new, slighty used power tools, dewalt, makita, bosch

leather jackets, jeans, etc. etc.

NYC is full of black market hustlers...with hot property to unload.
