What's the difference between a bikepark and a skatepark?

One has a no bicycles sign, and the other has a bunch of kids on dirt jumping rigs testing out their marshmellow forks by flying out of the quarter.

Funny.

I'd like to see it though. Dirt Jumping bikes are a new reality for me. I didn't know they existed till a few days ago.

Yeah. Thanks for the update, Chief.

The only difference between a "bikepark" and a "skatepark" is the first half of the word; they're the exact same thing.

skate parks don't have sub-boxes/rails

That's funny, because the Sunnyvale skatepark has a subbox. As did the old Milpitas Vans park, which originally didn't allow bikes.

how the **** is a skater gonna use a sub box. the highest i've seen a skater ollie was about 2 feet, and i don't know why a sub box would be less than 2 feet above a bank

That park has 2' subbox coming off a bank, and the skaters use it all the time. The Vans park had a subbox off a quarter, and they used that more than the bikers did (because the quarter was only 3' tall).

I find it hard to believe that you think that skaters can't use subboxes; hell, the backside of the vert quarter at Sunnyvale gets used for footplants all the time.

i have watched so many skaters try to hit this sub box at the banks and they always **** up. even the good ones like koston and valelley

The streets are the best guyz, skateparks and bikeparks are ohk but if u really enjoi riding manual gaps and drop offs are best. theres only so far u can push a jump, theres always something better to do on the streets

All joking aside, theres a combination park here in West van called Gleneagles...

Its got a 'bike park' with log rides, bridges, teeter totters etc for the MTB crew.
..its also got a section of dirt jumps in various sizes...
..and right beside that is a concrete skate park

I have yet to take my BMX here though.
There are so many other skateparks close by.
