I have a candy bar commercial from the 60s stuck in my head, which is no big deal, but I can't remember what candy bar it was for. Any childs of the 60s out there, for whom this rings a bell?

Scene: A tiny weather-station-type cabin in the middle of the frozen waste. A guy (GUY) sits at a table. The door bursts open, with snow blowing in, and a dude (DUDE) wearing a parka bustles in, carrying two cardboard boxes.

DUDE: We got some mail! We got some mail!

Each of them enthusiastically tears open a box.

GUY: What'd you get?

DUDE: (slowly extracting his hands from a box) I think it was a lemon meringue pie. What'd you get?

GUY: A box of [insert name of candy bar here].

Dude: (his eyes growing wide) Hey! I'll trade you! (He begins to rummage around his tiny space for items to trade. All the while GUY slowly chews on a [insert name of candy bar here].) My after-shave lotion! Jungle Beast!

ANNOUNCER voice-over about the delicious candy bar.

DUDE: (dejectedly) My walrus-jaw book-ends?

Does anyone remember this ad? It wouldn't bug me if I could just remember what candy bar it was. A coworker said "Wunderbar," but I don't think that's it. I think it predates the Wunderbar. Their commercial had vikings, if I recall correctly. All help appreciated.

No help. Just a recommendation for therapy. I prescribe you to read "Candyfreak" by Steve Almond. It may not hold the answer, but you'll be among good people.

You're just guessing!

And you're probably 24.

I guess I wasn't entirely honest when I said "all help appreciated," was I? Sorry.

Somebody on RetroJunk.com says it was for "Cadbury Coffee Ripple". I remember the ad very well, but not the chocolate bar. As for "Wunderbar", it had the great ad with Vikings finding the treasure chest full of Wunderbar on a beach somewhere.

And here is a photo of the Coffee Ripple wrapper. It matches what I remember was in the box the guy received in the mail.

Will you be banned or get a free yellow shirt for guessing Siu's age incorrectly?
