Contnental tire guys must be having a smokefest with the Michelin man or something, but all their 700x 37 tires are NOT all the same.

I'm messing around with new tires. I like fat tires for touring, I ran some Continental Top Touring 2000 700x37s this summer on my Long Haul Trucker. Wanted some tires for next year with a little more aggresssive tread for offroading, and also a little higher pressure. I'm putting the TT 37s on the rain bike for the winter and run them out.

doing online research, I see there aren't many choices for HP tires that are bigger than a 32. BUT, on Continental's website, the Travel Contact, more plies, more aggressive tread, safety core system, 700 x 37 is rated at up to 100 pounds.

Cool.

Today, swapping out the top touring 37s with the travel contact 37s, the travel contact has significantly less volume. Even with the knobs, I could pull the fenders in almost a centimeter from where they were set for the TT2000.

I'm not complaining, I'm just saying.

And I'm also saying, these Travel Contacts look SWEET and a may be a faster ride than the TT2000, so if you're looking for another touring tire for the rough stuff...
